First of all, this was all created in Vim which really is the greatest program ever. I know you probably don't believe me, but it's true.
I'm no graphics designer, but I made the board images from scratch in The GIMP, which is not the greatest program ever, nor even the second or third or twelfth greatest, but the images sure look cool if you ask me!

This web implementation of Bloom (i.e. what you're looking at) was basically an excuse to learn DHTML the "proper" way—that is, using the Document Object Model rather than just nuking everything by throwing innerHTML all over the place. This complicates things a little for Internet Explorer, but by no means makes compatibility impossible. Ultimately though, it was IE's utterly abysmal CSS support that made me abandon that idea. You can still play the game in IE, but I haven't bothered to get any of the neat little features to work. Actually, if you're honestly still using Internet Explorer, what's wrong with you, go get Firefox right now!
